a shitty update

1. Being More Actively Ethnic;
This is a non-aim but still, my mum was being all WOOHOO FOR INDIAN MUSIC and stuff so I thought I might join in and wow, just, wow. Here are some 'must-see' bollywood things that I liked when I was about 7 and still kind of adore now, ps. the picture quality of these is shitty but the audio is 10/10;

Yaire - Rangeela (translation; 'Yay' from the film 'Colourful' which is about dancing and falling in love, basically a Bollywood Staple. Yellow leotards! Doc Martens! 'Ikat'! It's '80s' except it was made in 1995 but whatever, Topshop wants to Cop It.)


Chaiyya Chaiyya - Dil Se (translation - 'From The Heart', this film is probably the best film I have ever seen, it is about Terrorism but in India which is Topical for Real Life Today but was made ages ago and Yes the video is wierd and Yes everyone is camp and stuff but Wow isn't Bollywood fun? Yes, yes it is.)

That was a (painfully)rough guide to mid-90s Bollywood songs. I am now getting a plane to Delhi and being fed by my grandma who is so, so awesome and driving my cousin's Maruti etc.

2. Teaching Myself Linguistics Because It Might Be Helpful
